To help you consider the ramifications of the statement that Adult Faith Formation is to be the centerpiece of a parish’s formation efforts.  We’ll help you think about what it would take to begin to shift the central task of catechesis in your parish/diocese from child-centered to adult-centered.  Implications, structures, what would have to change and more….

 

• Presentations

For staff, adult formation committees and interested parishioners on varying types of adult faith formation, on what the Church envisions constitutes a good starting place, and some resources available to get started.

 

• Direct delivery

Of adult faith formation events, including a parish retreat on baptism, as well as single events and events with multiple gatherings.  We’d like to try out some differing approaches to adult formation with you, basing our offerings on the questions and concerns of today’s adults:  What am I to make of things like stem cell research?  What if I am afraid to die?  My kids hate church.  What can I do?  I’d like to know more about Jesus.  Can you help?  What happens if I don’t believe all that I’ve been taught?  Mass is a dull habit.  Any suggestions?  My kids no longer go to Church.  What should I do?  I’d like to know what a domestic church is.  Do church and politics mix? 

 

• Customizable adult faith formation workshops or mini-retreats

Based on what you have assessed are best-suited to the people of your parish.   Perhaps you’d like to spend a year exploring a book of the Bible or the sacraments.  Perhaps issues of parenting or aging concern you.  Perhaps you’d like to offer glimpses into ways to pray.  We can help by thought-partnering, designing, developing and/or delivering events custom-designed for you.
